Do we still need both a King and a Prime Minister?

The UK is a country steeped in tradition and history not least of which includes our royal family. But is it really fitting with modern ideals that we should have both a King and a Prime Minister?

Should we be able to elect our Prime Minister directly?

The way we gain a Prime Minister in the UK hasn’t really changed for hundreds of years. But is it really the fairest way to decide who leads our country? Should we have more of a say in who enters Number 10 Downing Street? Or is it right that we elect MPs locally to represent our views nationally?

Should more be done to reduce the "cost of living"?

The cost of energy, food, and transport rise all the time. Workers also contribute taxes to help the country pay for things we all use like the NHS and schools. But if wages don’t rise to match these increases there can be real difficulties for lots of people. So should the Government be doing more to reduce the “cost of living”?

Do we get enough leisure time?

People today work longer hours than ever before. And in an age of always on digital communication where we can be connected 24/7 it can be really difficult to switch off from work. Emails in the evenings, a quick message from your boss, or paperwork on a Sunday evening? Do we need to switch off and give ourselves more actual leisure time?
